Hoo-wee, first font EVARRRR. And of course it's toward a fangeekly cause.
This is based on the fictitious Precursor alphabet presented in Naughty Dog, Inc.'s Jak and Daxter franchise. There was another usable font circulating among the fandom a while back, but to be totally honest, it was hideous. For my own purposes I decided to make a more sophisticated try at it, and so here we are.
For legal purposes, I must declare that I do not own the intellectual properties upon which this font is based. The Precursor alphabet and all related items belong to Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) and Naughty Dog, Inc. (NDI). Do not under any circumstances use this font for anything other than private, non-profit means. Any artist who uses this font in a work intended toward monetary gain is taking their legal lives (and mine!) in their hands--I strongly advise against including this font in any commissioned work.
This font file is in no way official nor endorsed by SCEA or NDI.
Yay for long-winded formality! :3
Installation (Windows): When downloading, choose C: (or whichever letter is assigned to your hard drive)\Windows\Fonts as your save destination. Alternatively, if you have your browser automatically select a save destination, navigate to wherever you've saved the file, then go to Control Panel>Fonts. Drag and drop the file into the Fonts folder, and it will install automatically.
Unfortunately I don't know how font installation goes on Macs and Linux-based OSes, so you're on your own there. :<
Yay! I found the other font too. I agree that it has its querks. a lower-case x ends up being a y so I have to type in all caps! I think I'll try yours.
I used Adobe Illustrator 8.0 to create the letterforms themselves. I used the GIF of the Precursor alphabet on NDI's Jak I site as a template and traced each letter until I had a fully vectored set. Then I went into Fontographer 4.1 and assigned each letterform to its proper letter. Tweaked the kerning and sizes here and there, and poof! TTF font huzzah.

This feature was brought together by my watchers and hours of browsing galleries for inspiring pieces that have gone unnoticed. Here are the results, one hundred beautiful photographs with under one hundred favorites. Let's give these artists the attention they deserve <3
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
